Pendére is a woman-owned business formed in 1993 to provide IT strategy, consulting, and recruiting services to Fortune 1000 companies and the federal government.  We have an impressive client list that continues to grow. Our philosophy is to provide high quality services that deliver business value to our clients.

Janet K. Ply, PhD - Co-Founder of Pendére, Janet has over 20 years experience in high end project management and process improvement consulting. She has successfully managed contracts over $200M and 300+ people for the federal government and commercial companies. In addition, she has implemented the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI's) Software Capability Maturity Model (CMM) in six different companies.

Janet has successfully built a number of organizational Project Management Offices (PMO’s) to oversee enterprise initiatives. In addition, she has been involved in providing legal support to several clients on failed projects and has been involved in turning around a number of troubled initiatives.

Janet is a Project Management Professional (PMP), a certification awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and she has served on the board for the Austin PMI chapter. She is a guest lecturer at the University of Texas McCombs Graduate School of Business and an adjunct professor for the Masters in Project Management Program at St. Edward's University.  She has developed both commercially available and in-house project management certification programs.

Janet holds a PhD in Information Technology from George Mason University; an MS in Engineering from UT Austin; an MS in Procurement and Acquisition; and a BS in Math.

Dr. Joyce Statz - Joyce focuses her consulting practice on enabling software organizations to maximize their productivity and competitiveness. With more than 30 years of experience as an IT professional, her consulting activities of the last 15 years have met needs of people ranging from CIO to individual developer. Joyce has worked in 82 of the Fortune 500 companies and numerous international companies.

Examples include developing measures for the CIO of General Motors, to enable Third Generation Outsourcing of IT; providing guidance on best practices for process improvement for Gartner Research; analyzing PMO performance for the City of Los Angeles CIO; mentoring the work of process groups at Ericsson, Texas Instruments, Sony, General Motors, Intel, and many others; building and teaching a curriculum of 30 courses on project management, process improvement, and software development practices, used for more than 2500 days of client-site training; developing a project management certificate program for the Software Quality Institute at the University of Texas; and leading the Process Improvement Working Group for Practical Software and Systems Measurement (PSM), the foremost software industry measurement organization.

She recently served as a Vice President in the Worldwide Services organization at Borland, integrating process offerings into Borland's software businesses. That work followed on from the acquisition of TeraQuest, the software process improvement company that Joyce co-led for 12 years. In addition, Joyce managed various levels of software development over a period of 15 years at Texas Instruments, as well as being an early proponent of software process improvement. Joyce is the President of the Austin Software Process Improvement Network (ASPIN) and is an adjunct professor in the Masters in Project Management Program at St. Edward's University.

Marsha Hughes - Marsha has 24+ years of experience in software development, as a programmer, business analyst, project manager, instructor, course developer, and consultant. She has developed and delivered Requirements Engineering and Project Management workshops to TeraQuest, Borland, and IconATG corporate clients worldwide. Marsha developed Vignette's patent-pending Content Management Blueprint, a business analysis approach for developing content management applications, and the Vignette Solutions Methodology for Vignette Professional Services. Using agile techniques such as storyboards and paper prototyping, she developed requirements for an engineering drawing management system at NYNEX (now Verizon). At Texas Instruments, she worked with a user group to define knowledge base rules for a gate management system for both Northwest Airlines and Heathrow Airport, and used rapid prototyping techniques to design a hand-held trading device for the Chicago Board of Trade. She has published and presented on the topics of requirements engineering, knowledge engineering, and project management, and is a co-inventor on a 1993 patent for Computer-Aided Decision Making.

Gary Harvey - Gary has more than 25 years of experience in the portfolio and project management field working in many different industries including IT, Financial Services, High Tech, Telecom, Utilities, Defense, Oil & Gas and Federal/State Governments. He has successfully completed projects in Europe, Canada, the United States and Mexico.

He has managed consulting organizations, software development organizations and major enterprise project software product development efforts and has successfully led multiple engagements implementing enterprise project and resource management techniques and tools in large organizations. Most recently, he led a 15 person team that implemented project management, resource management, program management and portfolio management across a 5,000 person internet services company. The implementation involved integration of project management systems with Peoplesoft and SAP.

In his spare time, Gary runs marathons and coaches runners on ways to improve their speed.

Paul Peterson - Paul has provided over 27 years of strategy, management, and consulting services in healthcare, financial services and insurance companies.   He was a Senior Partner for six years at KPMG Consulting,  responsible for developing and managing strategic, operational and technology solutions for some of the nation’s largest payers, providers, life and property/casualty insurance companies. 

Paul has developed PMO implementation and Business Information Technology strategies; helped companies align business objectives with strategic initiatives; and participated as a senior member of an Enterprise Program Management solution implementation. 

Paul has a BS degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University, is listed as an inventor on a patent for software for sales agents, and his accomplishments have been recognized by the Smithsonian Institute.

Tammi Terry – is a results-driven staffing leader with more than 18 years experience in consulting, high volume recruiting, sourcing, training, and management positions in the HR industry. She has a proven track record of partnering with companies and business leaders to develop sourcing strategies and manage the talent acquisition process for various industries such as: Information Technology (IT), Project Management (PMO), Grid Computing, Financial Services, High Tech, Health Care, Telecommunications, Non-Profits, and Start-Ups. Prior to joining Pendére, she was the Talent Acquisition Manager supporting the corporate services IT area under the CIO for Dell Inc.  She has also experience working for global industry leaders (Accenture, Kimberly Clark, Ericsson, Booz Allen & Hamilton, Fidelity Investments, Northrop Grumman, and Cincinnati Bell Information Systems) as well as executive search firms.

When a large telecom company hired Pendére to outsource its Eastern Region recruiting function, Tammi built the recruiting team, provided domestic and international recruiting expertise, and staffed over 300 fulltime and 150 consulting positions in multiple site locations across the East Coast is less than 12 months.

Tammi has a passion for recruiting and has extensive industry knowledge in the Information Technology area. She is the managing partner of Pendere’s recruiting practice. She is commited to establishing long-lasting relationships with hiring managers and candidates, providing a great customer experience, and delivering results that attribute to a company’s success.

She is a member of Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), Association for Women in Technology (AWTAustin), Women in Technology Inc. (WITI), National Assn. of Female Executives (NAFE), Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE), and Executive Women’s Golf Assn. (EWGA).

Dr. Mary Lewis –  Mary has over 20 years experience in organizational development, facilitation, consulting, and designing and delivering training programs globally for corporate, academic, and government clients.  She has provided training to over 1,000 Project Managers in leadership skills, management techniques, interpersonal skills, and team building.  Her workshops are dynamic and interactive as she incorporates real life experiences and tailors materials to reflect client goals and objectives.  Mary developed and managed the program goals and objectives for the “Teacher in Space Program” during her tenure at NASA.  She has received numerous awards for her outstanding work in organizational development, career coaching, facilitation, and teaching.  Mary received her Doctorate and Masters in Education from the College of William and Mary.
